The responsibilities of the Department of Assessment and Taxation include appraisal and assessment of property; collection of property taxes for all taxing entities; recording documents, land plats, issuing marriage licenses, records retention and administration of Elections.
Site Update

To increase transparency and accessibility, Washington County will now be displaying owner names on the guest public access website. Tax Statements
Annual property tax statements will be mailed out on or before October 25. Payments are due by November 15 and must be postmarked on or before November 15 to be considered timely. If the 15th falls on a weekend, payments will be received as timely through the next business day. Please return the lower portion of your tax bill(s) with your payment in the envelope provided.

  • Routing & Account number $.95 convenience fee applies

Mail or in Person:

  • Please DO NOT mail cash.
  • Please make checks payable to Washington County. Washington County staff have no authorization to alter checks in the absence of the bearer, therefore checks must be processed as-is.
  • Please do not post date checks. All checks are processed when received.
  • Make checks payable to Washington County (Please do not paper-clip or staple check to payment stub)
